How Much Does It Cost to Build a Website?
As someone who works alone and builds every project completely custom, one of the questions I hear the most is: "How much does a website cost?"
The most honest answer is: it depends. And that’s exactly why I don’t keep a fixed price list on my website. Every client, every idea, and every project comes with a unique set of requirements and those requirements shape the final price.
Why There Is No Price List
I don’t offer “pre-made packages” that are identical for everyone. A website is not a product sitting on a shelf, it’s a tailored service. And every project has different needs.
To provide a realistic quote, I first need to understand exactly what the client wants and what the project requires. Even small differences can completely change the scope of the work.
What Affects the Cost of a Website?
Here are the main factors that influence the total price:
- Text content does the client provide it, or do I write/organize it?
- Images are they provided, or do they need to be created, designed, or edited?
- Design complexity simple layout or completely custom design?
- Hosting and domain does the client need me to arrange and manage it?
- Maintenance updates, backups, security…
- Additional features blog, contact forms, booking system, online store, multilingual support, etc.
All of these elements change how much time and work the project requires which directly affects the final price.
Custom Work Means Custom Pricing
When I work on a website, I don’t use generic templates or automated builders. Every project is handcrafted specifically for the client’s goals and brand. That means:
- unique structure
- custom design
- optimized performance
- clean and maintainable code
- personal communication (since I'm the only one working on it)
Because of this personalized approach, two websites that look similar on the surface can actually require a completely different amount of work behind the scenes.
Examples of Things Clients Often Forget Impact the Price
- Do you need your own custom graphics?
- Do I need to fix or improve the images you already have?
- Is the website small (3-5 pages) or large (20+ pages)?
- Do you want animations, transitions, or interactive elements?
- Do you need copywriting or translation?
- Do you need SEO with structured content?
Each “small detail” adds up and that’s why a fixed price list wouldn’t be accurate or fair.
So How Much Does It Cost?
The final price depends entirely on what you need. A simple, clean website with your existing content will cost less. A complex website with custom design, images, features, and content will cost more.
The best way to get an exact price is simple: tell me what you need. Once I understand your goals, I can give you a clear and realistic quote.

Final Thoughts
Websites are not one-size-fits-all. My approach is personal, hands-on, and fully customized and the pricing reflects that. No templates. No automated shortcuts. Just real, tailored work.
